Slippers and such...

We are doing a remodel on our home, we are putting in tile and getting rid of our old carpet.  This project is long overdue and I cannot wait for it to be completed.  As excited as I am for this project, I am not liking the "carpet is half torn up" phase.  We are living a few weeks with cement floors and it is driving me crazy.  I hate being barefoot anyways so I am always wearing socks but they are getting so dirty with the cement.  I decided a few weeks ago that I should get a pair of slippers.  I just recently got a pair of UGG boots and I never want to take them off, so I decided UGG slippers would be a fantastic idea.  The problem with UGG slippers is they are expensive and my husband wanted a pair as well so I set a task to get them as cheap as possible.  I went on Amazon and started doing research and saw that they had a wide range of prices available for their slippers and I wasn't sure why.  I soon came to realize if you bought slippers in an uncommon color you could get them for $50 cheaper, so I was able to get myself super comfortable pair of slippers for 45% cheaper than if I had gone with Black or Tan.  So I now have a comfortable pair of Purple UGG slippers and they are my new favorite thing.

I did a post on my favorite TV shows of all time, so now I am going to talk about TV Shows that I just don't care for, but have tried really hard to like.  These shows fall under a subcategory of "shows that people my age tend to like."  Many of the actors in these shows I like in other tv shows or movies, but I just don't like or am disappointed by these shows in particular.  Another thing to note is I have seen many episodes of each one of these shows and have given them all a fair shot.  Also, these are not in any particular order. How did it get to be 2018?

Happy New Year!! I know I am 19 days late on the well wishes but 2018 was a rough start in my household. We got the flu and my husband and I were down for the count. We realized by the end of it that we haven't spent that much time together in our home since we first got married; but instead of it being a fun honeymoon busily settling into our new home it was a lot of cough syrup, chicken soup and video games.  The bright spot was I was able to introduce my husband to SNES' Zelda a Link to the Past. He had never played it!!  I know that game better than I know most things (I am a huge video game nerd) so it was fun playing it with him for the first time. I love making New Years resolutions, and I still did that this year but I am starting them a little late.  I decided the best way to get going with my resolutions is to share them on my blog.   1) Continue to Choose Happy:  A few years ago, I made some changes in my life and I decided to be happy and enjoy life.

New Years Resolution or Goal Setting?

Every year I make the same resolutions; eat healthier, read my Bible daily and save more money.  Some years I have kept these going throughout the year and have done quite well but some years not so much.  This year I am not making resolutions but starting goals.  I know you may think that is the same thing but the difference is I am not going to hold myself to just this year, or if I fail in my goal I will just pick right up again and not wait until the end of a month or year.  Each day is a new day and if one day I fail, I will just pick up where I left off.   Here are some goals I am setting starting in this new year! 1) Eat/Live Healthier - This one is pretty self explanatory.  I need to stop all of my crazy eating habits.  I am not 18 and a distance runner anymore.  I cannot eat a pint of ice cream in one sitting.  (not that I have done that in many years, but you know what I mean.  I did eat 3 donuts in one sitting very recently.)  I am going to set the goal to work out as ma
