My Avengers: Endgame takeaway (CONTAINS A SPOILER)

In the entire Avengers franchise I have only wanted to see one thing, Captain America and Peggy to somehow spend their lives together. I had no idea how it could happen, not a clue, but it did and it was the final scene of Avengers Endgame. The final scene of Avengers Endgame shows Steve Rogers and Peggy dancing in their living room to It's Been a Long, Long Time. First off: That just happens to be my favorite song from the 40's (ok, I don't know a ton of 40's music but that has always been a sentimental one for me) Second off: My husband and I often dance in our living room, so that tugged at my heart strings. Obviously, when we dance in our living room I am not that dolled up, but now I want to be. I need more 40's clothes. Thirdly: IT HAD BEEN A LONG, LONG TIME!! So much happened for them to get to this moment, ack! All the feels! Sorry this was a sappy sentimental post. I didn't realize that I was such a hopeless romantic until I watched Avengers: ...
Annual Bills and anticipating them

One of my main resolutions for 2018 was to take a long hard look at my budget and become better at anticipating expenses. Personal Budgeting one of my favorite topics, not because I excel in this area, however it is something I’m always working on getting better at. It’s a lifelong goal. I love learning how other people budget and I devour books that give me different tips and tactics on how to budget. This year I decided that I was going to make it my goal to start anticipating annual expenses better. For instance, I know that there are two times a year where I always get tripped up, late summer and Christmas. August is the month where all my annual bills come to hit me, it would've been smart if I had them all spread out but it is always August where I am hit with all my annual insurances, amazon prime, car registrations, (and occasionally a summer vacation). I always find myself in late July getting overly stressed as I check the mail and "remember" all of my annu...

When I was in Kindergarten, I decided that I wanted to have glasses. I was so jealous of my classmates who had glasses, my parents didn’t wear glasses at that time, so kindergarten was my first experience knowing that some people wore them and some didn’t. I wanted to be one of the lucky few, I asked my classmates how they got glasses and one of my friends told me their eyes hurt and they got them. Easy enough I decided, I went home and promptly told my mom my eyes hurt. I continued to complain about painful eyes until she took me to the eye doctor. We were sitting in an examination room waiting for the doctor and my mom explained to me that the doctor was going to have me read a chart, if I got all the answers 100% correct I would get glasses. I was estatic my mom told me what to do! The doctor came in and I answered his questions perfectly, I was so happy. He told my mom my vision was perfect and we left. I was baffled, why didn’t we pick out glasses? My mom explained what happened. ...

Happy New Year!! I know I am 19 days late on the well wishes but 2018 was a rough start in my household. We got the flu and my husband and I were down for the count. We realized by the end of it that we haven't spent that much time together in our home since we first got married; but instead of it being a fun honeymoon busily settling into our new home it was a lot of cough syrup, chicken soup and video games. The bright spot was I was able to introduce my husband to SNES' Zelda a Link to the Past. He had never played it!! I know that game better than I know most things (I am a huge video game nerd) so it was fun playing it with him for the first time. I love making New Years resolutions, and I still did that this year but I am starting them a little late. I decided the best way to get going with my resolutions is to share them on my blog. 1) Continue to Choose Happy: A few years ago, I made some changes in my life and I decided to be ...
What to do with the extras

Ever find yourself walking around Kohl's with $10 Kohl's cash and having no clue what to spend it on? Or having a bunch of gift cards in your wallet that you constantly forget to spend when you are at the store? Okay if you have little ones you probably haven't, but if you are like me and your only children are furry and have whiskers you may have had this problem, (I never have this problem at PetSmart). I am reminded of one instance when I spent an hour walking around Kohl's with $10 Kohl's cash and since they weren't having any really great sales and I didn't need anything I left with an ornament. A friend of mine recently pointed out a better way to spend this little bit of extra, buy something for someone in need. I felt so silly that I never thought of this, but at Christmas time you see the angel trees and it inspires to shop for others. I am definitely guilty of forgetting this at other times of the year. I donate to charities and my Church but...

I've always enjoyed watching movies, as a child my grandparents would take us to the movies every Friday and Saturday night and we would see whatever was playing. As I got older, I really became burned out on going to the theater but I still have a love of movies. (That was the most first world problem statement I've ever read, please forgive me) When it comes to movies I am very specific in the genres that I enjoy, or more specifically that I don't enjoy. All of that being said I don't go to the theater that often, but in the last month or two there have been 4-5 movies in the theater that I have really wanted to see, recently we saw two movies in one week. One of them I'm not going to say what it was..okay it was Bad Mom's Christmas, go ahead and judge. The other was Murder on the Orient Express, we have yet to see Justice League and Thor:Ragnarok (I know we are awful). My blog post tonight will be discussing Murder on the Orient Express. I've ...
Spoilers, La La Land and Life..

I love Spoilers. Whether it is a book, t.v. show or movie, I want to know what I am getting myself into. Growing up I would always read the last page or two of a book and I never understood why, especially since the last page you are dealing with different characters and situations than the first page. Before I agree to see any movie, I find myself going to the spoiler websites and read the synopsis of the entire movie, my justification for this is that it is a money saver. Why? There have been countless times I have gone to see a movie and I have left the theater disappointed that I wasted the $10 and two hours of my life. I find that knowing what is going to happen makes the whole experience better for me. It doesn't bother me knowing and I like to see how it all unfolds. Just in case you have ever wondered why spoiler sites exist, it is for people like me. My most recent example of a spoiler making the movie experience better for me was La La Land....
Christmas shopping on a budget

'Tis the Season!! I love the Holidays, they start for me in mid-September. Mid-September is when the weather is starting to become bearable, I feel like I can go outside without my skin melting off (imagine the end scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark, that is me in the summertime). We start the holiday season with different Halloween gatherings, then we roll right into Thanksgiving and before we know it Christmas is on the horizon. Last year during the Christmas season I was very frustrated as I have a lot of people on my Christmas gift list and I waited until after Thanksgiving to buy gifts. I felt that it was a drain on my pocket book and as though I was just phoning it in. I love giving people gifts, I find a lot of joy in it, however I love giving people the right gift. As I've gotten older I've fallen into the habit of putting off shopping and just buying a gift card at the last minute. I decided to make a change, I was determined to start early and put more thoug...

The other night dear, as I lay sleeping I dreamed I held you in my arms But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken So I hung my head and I cried. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy when skies are gray You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my sunshine away A week ago tonight Kitty-Man passed away. Monday was definitely one of the hardest days of my life I didn't know it was possible for a human to cry as hard as I did, especially for a cat. Kitty-Man wasn't just a cat he was a companion. When I first moved to Las Vegas I was going to be living alone and I hated that idea, so one day my fiance came and visited and I dragged him to Leid Animal Shelter to find a furry friend. We came home with a 2 year old male Russian Blue. I had never owned a male cat before, and I had in my mind that Cats were girls and Dogs were boys. This is completely insane but it was just an idea that I was stuck with. ...
We will never forget.

The words 'We will never forget' are not just a phrase but a truth. There are certain moments in human history that are always remembered. My grandparents have never forgotten where they were when Pearl Harbor was bombed or when the Hindenburg crashed. My grandmother has told me in detail her feelings the moment she heard and where she was on Sunday, December 7th, 1941. The country was filled with horror knowing that we were brutally attacked as people went to church or simply slept. My grandparents and some family members remember where they were the moment President Kennedy was shot. Regardless of political affiliation those who were alive then remember where they were and how they felt when the young handsome President, who was a symbol of our great nation was cut down in his prime. My parents remember where they were when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon. The moon that we can see on a nightly basis and seems so familiar, but is also a world away. F...
I prayed for you.

When I was young somewhere in between a child and an adult I started praying for you. I didn't even know your name but I prayed for you. I prayed for you many years before we met. I prayed that if you had a test that day it went well. I prayed that wherever you were you had a nice day. I prayed that if you were an athlete you had a good competition. I prayed that if you had a girlfriend you were learning good habits to become a wonderful husband. I prayed that wherever you were, you were happy. I prayed for our future relationship and marriage. I prayed that we would never lose the spark that made us who we were as the marriages around me had. I prayed for our future home. Even though I prayed for you I was confused. I was confused why I wasn't always having the best days. I was confused as to why there were bullies. I was confused why I wasn't dating. I was confused by the fact whenever I wanted to date someone a random act would happen to prevent it. I ...
Essential Oil Love

I wrote this out about DoTerra Essential Oils recently and I thought I would share it here. When I first started using DoTerra, I really enjoyed the fun smells and all of the different CPTG blends that they offered, I didn't expect it to be more than a glorified perfume or air freshener. I quickly found out that I was mistaken. Approximately, six months ago I started using the LLV supplement pack, and my life changed for the better. I knew I needed to start taking vitamins and I thought why not try the ones DoTerra sells? Since then, my health has improved in leaps and bounds. When I used to get sick CONSTANTLY, I have made it through cold/flu season with just one three day bout of a runny nose and sore throat. The symptoms were minimized by the on guard capsules, breathe stick and breathe drops. Additionally, I have been using the Vanilla Trim Shake for the last four months and I have found that I am full of extra energy throughout the day and I know that I a...
